One thing's for sure, the subject of Candidate Experience is gaining traction.

The Talent Collective were recently engaged to conduct independent research for a global corporate, who want to create a 'signature' candidate experience, so regardless of the outcome of the recruitment process, candidates would be consistently left with a positive perception of the organisation.

We looked at the candidate's experience from the perspective of the four key phases of the recruitment process:

  • Source & Attract
  • Apply & Screen
  • Interview & Assess
  • Offer & Onboard

Research Key Trends and Findings

Innovative technology has, of course, made a big contribution to enhancing the candidate experience. The wider use of video technology for convenience and cost savings and a growing number of mobile job apps to attract the smart phone generation are two such examples.

However, whilst there is a widespread appreciation that technology can help enable better engagement, in the end it comes down to the efforts of your recruitment team. The concept of the 'Candidate Concierge', whereby candidates are looked after by one point of contact throughout their entire application, interview and on boarding process is starting to find wider adoption.

UK Candidate Experience Awards 2012

The first Candidate Experience Awards were held in Las Vegas last November. Following their huge success, the concept is coming to the UK this year. We are delighted to be principal sponsors for the UK event.

Each participating company will receive a benchmark report as a comparison to the other participating organisations. Companies that win the award will be recognised publicly for their excellence and each winner will receive a digital logo to proudly display on their employment marketing. All responses will be treated as confidential information and the identity of companies that participate, but not win, will not be revealed.

It offers a great opportunity for companies to really understand how they fare, and get some good ideas as to how their Candidate Experience could be improved. There is no cost to participate.
